🇳🇬 Nigeria’s Train 7 finally has a new target date.

After years of delays, Nigeria LNG’s long awaited Train 7 expansion on Bonny Island is now targeted to come online by the end of 2027.

The $10 billion project is expected to increase NLNG’s production capacity from 22 million to 30 million tonnes of LNG per year, a 35% increase.

That could be a big deal for Nigeria, especially as global demand for LNG continues to grow. It gives the country an opportunity to strengthen its position in the global LNG market and bring in more export revenue.

But getting here hasn’t been easy.

The project has been slowed down by the pandemic, the Russia Ukraine war, and changes in contractor timelines.

The good news? Train 7 is reportedly now over 90% physically complete. 👀

If the project stays on track, 2027 could be a major year for Nigeria’s energy industry.

What do you think? Will Train 7 finally meet this deadline?
